HP 500 rev limiter question
 

A buddy is running a Merc stock HP500 ignition system... is there a rev limiter in this system? Can't seem to get the engines to rev over 5100-5200 RPM. I realize there are other things contributing to top RPM, but want to rule out a limiter.

The rev liniter is about 5350-5400 rpms on them. If you hit, you will know. It feels similar to an engine misfire.
