New Nose Cones and High water temps.....
 

Installed a set of Imco nose cones on my Bravo I's with XR shafts. First time out........500 EFI's kept shutting down on high temp alarms. Installed thru-the-hull water pick-ups (1.25") fittings with hose to the sea strainers............now it still runs the temp up to about 180 - 200 degrees.
I did replace one housing and impeller and on the other motor an impeller......because we were reallly running hot, getting back to the dock.
Could the motor water pump impeller be bad. Why the higher temps......should have left well enough alone

Are you saying that you installed thru hull water pickups?

Could you have the pickups mounted too high on the transom and sucking some air while on plane and in choppy water? just a guess bro :cool:
