Boat Lift Battery - What are you using

We have a 24V Boat Lift -by Lift Tech Marine - It has been wonderful.

this year I've noticed that the batteries are slowing dying - we have solar panel that trickle charges them- but after 5 seasons they are giving up the ghost.

This is a 24 V system and I have 2- 12V batteries wired in series.

Do any of you have a recommended battery for this application and what kind of "amps" would you recommend.

thanks in advance.

Stick with a quality battery like Deka, or equivalent. I've got a Floe VFD-8000 for my boat, and unfortunately it is AC and where I have it now, I don't have AC power. I ended up running it off of an 8D battery and an inverter. It works great, but I would prefer to be 12V.

I was able to get a Deka very close to my home. The guys there were very knowledgeable of what I needed and was able to pull a couple off the shelf-- 800 CCA Marine Cell.

thanks
