555 or 565 with Dart 308 Heads?
Anybody use a set on these motors?
I spoke to Ron Potter (Engine builder) a few years back and he highly recommended using them on 540 engine builds for big torque gains. Im thinking of stroking my 509's with a 4.375 stroke. Not turning more than 5600 RPM. Thoughts? |
The 308 doesnt give up much flow to the 345 iron eagle, from .200 to .600 lift. It does that, with a 2.25 valve (2.30 in the 345), and a port that is 37cc smaller. They should work well for you, and make some great torque. They also make a 330cc, cnc ported iron head now, which would prob be the best performing, but cost more.
intake flow 308/345/330cnc .2-157/158/169 .3-232/228/236 .4-291/289/297 .5-325/327/343 .6-347/358/367 .7-359/378/384 .8-363/390/394 |
I wish I went smaller when I did mine, my engine designer didn't know too much for heavy boat build.
