Crack at the bottom of the transom is it fixable?
Boat is a 1985 baja sport it comes with the 1990 mercury 150 xr4 black max with recently replaced lower unit. It has crack at the bottom of the transom, is this fixable and if so how would i go about doing it.

Crack ?

thats more than a crack, looks like a rotted lower transom and delamination of the bottom, that would be expensive to fix, but if you could pick it up for a grand pretty sure you could part it out and make money.
Edit: Im surprised it floats, there has to be water intrusion |
Let's put it this way. It is fixable. But the fact that you don't know how means YOU can't reasonably fix it. The motor and trailer look worth the asking price. It needs a whole transom before you worry about the major light leak at the bottom of the transom. One thiught: find a decent hull with no engine for cheap. Put the engine on that hull and then you can do long-term learning curve transom replacement. But if you try to slap some glass over that huge crack-hole you will watch that engine break right off the back of that boat-transom and all. Can you say "free swimming lessons?"

That actually sounds like a very expensive swimming lesson. |
Looks like it took a quick trip off the ez loader trailer onto the ramp.

Did that once. First trailer I ever had that the rollers actually rolled.

I would pass on that clunker even without the holes that you could put your hands thru

That boat is garbage. It would take an act of love to restore it. I would be suspect of the rest of equipment as well.
