Called Mr. Young today looking for an aftermarket part number for an IAC for a 525EFI. He took the time to call me back with 2 different part numbers - really appreciate the help. Thanks again ! Dean

It was things like this that made me go to Eddie for my rebuild and will someday go back when needed. Great guy to work with and a great engine builder.

So did he give you a different pn than the one that has been posted on OSO in the past? If so, please share.

And Eddie IS a good dude!

Sorry - NAPA part number 2-29691 and Borg Warner 31069. I believe the application is for a 2000 - 2005 6.8 V10 Ford.

I heard it was a Windstar IAC. Either way Ford is cheaper than Mercury... And when somebody saves us a C-note on simple stuff we remember when it is time to spend a bunch of them...

Above post from SB do not use that gasket - you will need to buy the Merc gasket. I had one last year that the owner installed the exact same gasket with his aftermarket IAC on a 525 - Again It was the exact same gasket in the pic above --- To make long story short so here is the short version --- the engine did not like it. period.

Also Merc calls that IAC above Design 1 or gen 1 --- the Design II comes with a pig tail connection - just saying - make sure your connection / connector is good - Had those bad as well.

forgot to add in my post above --- design 1 IAC for the 525 is NLA thru merc - you can see what I was talking about for the pig tail and its connections. Anyways that is Design 2 or Gen 2 - part numbers in the link are 15 and 16.

Merc IAC gasket one can buy from a buck and half to 2.10 max retail Its in the link as well they are cheap in price anyways. I buy about 100 per year at dealer cost

^^^^Good info BUP !

Thanks SB - I try to post at times some helpful stuff.

I will add again DO not use that gasket in the SB link of the IAC pics -

I would wonder now how many have installed that exact gasket because it came with their aftermarket IAC they bought on Amazon or even at the auto store and then continue to chase their running issues. Some food for thought.
