525SC CMI exhaust cooling hose question
 

I have 525SCs with CMIs. Each header has a 1" ID hose about 5" long that connects the header water passage to the tailpipe water passage. My question is, how much gap is between the header pipe stub and the tailpipe stub? Enough to change the hose with the unit clamped together or do I need to separate them to get that hose on? I can post a pic if needed.
