SC pistons

I started a thread a while back regarding the Manley Platinum 2618 pistons and the feedback seemed to be pretty positive however no one has posted as to whether or no not they've tried them or not. I'm down to piston only for the most part for my builds. Do I roll the dice on Manleys or go with the traditional JEs. There both 2618 alloy. Price wise isn't enough to compare although not sure the pins come with the JEs.

Any thoughts before I hit the buy button? Anyone used these Manley platinum since I last posted. Just curious.

what are you building?i have not used manley,s but they look like good quality.i have used a lot of j&e pistons in n/a and boosted and i like them.the bbc blower piston,s come with a .180 wall pin that i use for 850 hp max, after that i use a .200 or .210 wall pin depending on projected power.

548 sc experiment builds with promaxx heads. I've been reading up a lot on wrist pins. About like rod bolts. Some interesting threads on different forums from old timers.

JE Pistons

i kinda narrowed it down to JE now just thought I would try something different. Now wondering if it's necessary to upgrade to the h-13. Gonna call JE tech tomorrow. I agree with mike on thickness .200 plus but really depends on what the material is. Lots of options especially on 1k plus or minus hp builds. After much reading for an hour or so I'm more confused than before I got started. My thought was their 52 series would be sufficient. No biggy. Will post tomorrow what they recommend just for reference.

I tan the jes with 180 gram pins, 14psi boost, 4.25 stroke, 1100hp. I ran srps at one point with 140 pins, later put in 180 pins as they seemed slightly bent if thats possible. Do they bend or just catastrophicallt fail. The 140 gram pinsrolled fukked up on flat plat it seemed after 120 hours at 10 psi, might have been my imagination, was a long time ago

I have the Manley's in my engine.. not much time on it yet though.. Pistons looked good..

Little heavier than other brands but figured a little extra material in a blower piston isn't a big deal...

CNC motorsports had the best pricing when I got mine
