8.1 vs 8.2 mounting

Will a 8.2 complete engine drop in, in place of a 8.1? same mounting? thanks

its the same but still have to use the alignment tool to make sure you are good there plus there a couple of procedures per SB's how to install the coupler and the correct rear transom mounting kit per what you have .

I don't know if it makes a difference, but what I am looking to do is take 496 HO out and put a old school Merc in.
