Can't order oil on weekends!?!?

Went to the auto parts store last weekend to order a case of eng oil. I was told they can no longer order oil on the weekends! :angry-smiley-055:Some kind of EPA thing. Anyone else run into this??

mike tkach 11-22-2017 07:42 PM

summit will take your order 7 days a week.

getrdunn 11-22-2017 07:47 PM

Wtf is this world coming to. My gosh...

SB 11-22-2017 07:50 PM

Yes, and our bakery said no more apple pie on Sundays for the same reason. Hmmmm.

right mike but it's possible they won't process the order if oil til following morning. I don't know for sure though however even what OT says is complete bs. I understand no booze on sundays til noon unless special permit in place but oil?

Bahaha EPA regulation.

vintage chromoly 11-23-2017 06:44 AM

Nonsense

Maybe the parts guy was one of those people just to lazy to do an order on any day.

IGetWet 11-23-2017 07:24 AM

Yea lets make a product unavailable on one of the days the general public buys it the most. Sounds like a Obamalamadingdong idea to me.

The no alcohol sales on sundays always got me too, being from WI. I won’t forget when I was in Indiana on super bowl Sunday and couldn’t buy beer from a store, I was shocked.

F-2 Speedy 11-23-2017 10:06 AM

What auto parts store ?

I do all my performance parts shopping online anymore due to lack of anything in the Austin area..

I was at O'Reilly's in Cedar Park. Same thing at the store in Leander. The store managers didn't know abt the new regulation until they actually tried to make the order.

I agree the net offers waay more selection at a cheaper price. However it's a double edged sword. Once the local auto parts stores go tits-up, there goes my ability to repair my vehicles the same day they break.
That's the only reason I purchase my oil from them.

Pismo10 11-30-2017 11:38 AM

Just an idiot clerk, even if true he would make the sale and enter the order in the next morning first thing..

Similar story........I needed to ship some stud girdles back to Webster Industries, Bill the owner said use my account and gave me the number, I stop by a UPS store and tell the person I needed to ship these to Cali and here's the account #.........she said we're not part of UPS, ( really ) so I say what's that big UPS sign doing on the front of your building then, she said we're not tied to the main UPS ( WTF ) and cant use an account # for processing a shipment, ( Brilliant ) ......... so 38 bucks CASH later they were on the way.

Crazy huh ? One of my 1000issues with NAPA last 10-15yrs,is when one of their POS branded parts (many are now POS unfortunately) breaks or can't even install, you get the, "I'm not NAPA. what do you want me to do ?" My answers is to usually drink a bottle of water and put a balloon over there head and die. :)

One parts counter guy, been there about 20 years, I won't deal with because he has a huge chance of sending me wrong parts, believed - untile I figured it out and corrected him) that FWD is not Four Wheel Drive ! I noticed this after walking behind him and counter to grab my own parts. 20 yrs !!!!

I'll stop.....100's of issues over the years. 99% of time I have to do he ordering online to the store...if I have to use them...which of course I try not to.

Edit in: FYI. NAPA rebrands Dorman parts amongst others.

There's an easy answer to the OP's issue, "Ok I'll take my money elsewhere."
