One of these performance intakes will get you 5mph.

The best bang for the buck is to leave it alone and boat while others are at the dock with melted pistons on their $40k blower motors.:)
In the good ol days you could really find something to wake up an engine such as a cam, bigger carb, headers etc but that’s not really the case with boats. |
Those motors aren't worth much of a difference in money dead or alive. Whipple it and enjoy it while it lasts. Just don't venture too far offshore if you get chance.

Agree with the majority of posts above so forget about going faster in that boat.
Assuming it's the Crownline, have you got thru-hull exhausts? If not, spend the money there. Still won't be cheap, will make little or no difference to performance but will give you a new interest in the boat. A stock 454 can still sound pretty good and you won't compromise reliability. Anyone now a good deal on thru-hulls? RR |

Hi , yes this boat has threw hull captains choice exhaust , but instead of spending thousands , have that drink or two at the bar and say it goes 5 mph faster , or just keep it tuned right up .
|
You could put in a Baja speedo. Those always seem to read 10mph faster.
|
Or just take the speedo out. We grew up with jet boats-nobody had a speedo.. We would ask people skiiing what rpms they would like be be pulled at. A few of the boats in the group were 100mph boats (realistically the would run mid 70s). They sounded fast anyway!
