John, in my humble opinion the Turbo 400 is the ticket, I built one for a collage buddy for his 68 olds, we blocked the accumulators pulled clutch pack cushioning springs stepped up line pressure, etc. damn thing would break your neck shifting, played hell with everything south of the output shaft, LOL point being you can do minor mods or full blow drag mods but they are bullet proof (within reason).
