Factory Mercury rocker arms or Chinese garbage?
Was considering the Crane 13760 (golds) or the Comp cams 1620 and saw these on ebay. Anyone heard of these?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/361398808774?ViewItem=&item=361398808774 Based on a quick google search the part # 8M0044735-C doesn't exist. I put nothing past the Chinese to laser etch a fake Mercury part # on them. If these are actually the real deal and as described the price is dirt cheap. |
I think you answered your own question in the title.

I'm surprised Merc lawyers aren't putting an end to that.

I always thought merc hiperformance engines used crane golds although they look just like the crane 13760's. Possible crane makes these for merc? Just a guess. I know in some cases or perhaps many the trunions and tips are made over seas and the body's here in the USA. These look like a nice rocker and if they fit like cranes they should fit well. Cranes always seem to fit great for me any way. .

Actually show up as interchangeable with crane only part number shows 13750.

They might be Scorpion Marine rocker arms for Merc. I have a set of silver Scorpions similar shape. Cost about the same.
Marine Endurance Series |
atlas=chinese copy,i would not trust them, espically for a marine engine.

Zoom in and look at the finish. Notice the pockets in the casing. I don't think Merc has anything to do with these. Second pic is from a Merc parts site.

The later merc blue motors use silver scorpion rockers. Those are knock off junk as shown in the horrible casting

That's kinda messed up BS especially when you look at description.
