Holley HP EFI Data Logs

Does any one have Holley HP EFI data logs from BBC in boat running with knock sensor(s)?

I could probably dig some up, what are you looking for?

indysupra 03-06-2018 08:53 PM

I do.

I am in particular looking for any data log records when going from idle to on plane and/or throttle down from WOT or high speed down to idle. At this point any in boat data logs with knock levels record of a similar BBC type engine on water running would be of interest. I am interested in what may be the differences or similarities of other in boat engine knock level characteristics.

FYI, All I want is any and all raw recorded Holley HP EFI data logs I can get from in boat running of BBC with knock sensor(s). Not asking for these data logs to be prescreened for content that I am interested in. I will take all I can get.

I will fire up my laptop I use for tuning but I probably only have some logs while I’m on it. Are you having an issue or wondering if a certain knock value is normal.

Its the knock vs false knock issue. My engine (in the boat) is very noisy requiring sensitivity setting down to 35% just to get by. Then 100% knock levels show up where they should not be. I need to see what a different BBC engine/boat knock level looks like for comparison along with all the other data logged parameters.

Example of what I am talking about.

Are you running your rockers on the loose side? Maybe when the RPMs come down enough after having the lifters pumped up, the decreased oil pressure is allowing some momentary clatter and you are picking that up.

Actually on the tight side. I could be anything. Maybe all boats do it. That is the problem and why at this point I need to see someone else's boat data log to compare.

what do you mean your engine is very noisy @ what rpm, and you run the valve train on the tight side, what cam and lifters are in it.

I mean noisy versus other boats/vehicles running Holley with knock sensors. Default Holley sensitivity setting is 50% for my type application where in normal non detonation engine drive train noise "knock levels" recorded by the Holley should be below 80%. Above 80% knock level the Holley is programed to consider that as detonation and its ESC spark control knock function will be activated. I have to run 35% sensitivity to keep knock levels below 80% during normal operation. But even at 35% sensitivity I can get 100% knock levels coming off plane at 2500 rpm and below as previously posted data log shows. The core reason for my interest in seeing Holley data logs of other boats coming off plane is to see if they have any similar knock level spike only during that operation.

Stock GM roller lifters for 8.1L Gen7, Scorpion 1.8 Marine Endurance intake & Crane Blue Race 1.7 exhaust roller rockers. Cam is a custom for my engine made by Cammotion.
