Im not exactly sure but I think I have speed pro hypereutectic pistons in my engines. (voted for the KB Hypers on list)
Granted they have run for about 2-2.5 hrs total since birth but seem to be okay (seirously how do you really tell your pistons are good or bad until something breaks or blows up anyway?) Now im sure some of you seirous gear heads might take your pistons out every year and give them a sensual rub down or something but for moderate engines I dont see a problem with the hypereutectic pistons at all. just a blurp from a small time boat owner. I have ran SRP's in my 383 all this year. Had one piston problem, but we think it just broke , some say detonation, it broke the crown, but who the hell knows .... but had no other problems with the 7 others :p checkin them out when the motor gets pulled .. probably run them again next year if all is good.. quality was very impressive and they sure were pretty :D
forgot.. in dad's 502 we run JE's and in the last few motors in that boat LOL. No problem. Building a motor for my uncles boat and he has got JE's too.. Travis |
I run JE's in my 632. The only problem is they take about 4 weeks to turn a set with the raised pins and "short skirts". You would think they would have extras made up, as this is getting to be a very popular combo.
