Mercury 600 SCi wateroutlet Intercooler??
 

Hello
I get an 600sci and was wondering a bit about the waterroute from the intercooler! Intake hose come from the steeringoilcooler, if i see it right.But on my motor is no hose on the outlet fitting and i find no conection for the other end of the hose then!
Where did the water go from the intercooler normally??

The other fitting is the output side and should be routed to a thru hull and dumped overboard.

OEM STOCK routing -- If i recall correctly --- small diameter hose off from the power steering cooler -- then to the inlet side of the charge air cooler --- then hose off the outlet of charge air cooler inwhich that end goes to the starboard exhaust header tail pipe fitting. I am talking about stock OEM MERC 600 sci here and going off the top of my head.

I look in the parts list and there is a hose for the outletplug from the intercooler.but i found no place to go with this.As at moment,i have no tailpipes for the engine,this way is maybe right!
but good to know that this water is not need to go back in the engine.I will look what way i let it out of the boat then.
Maybe i go the way in the tailpipe or switchable diverter,as i dont like to drill more holes in the hull.

Cmi will sell you a few of the fittings that go in the tailpipe near the transom.
I did each engine seperataly so there is not a restriction from both intercoolers trying to dump into 1 fitting 1 tailpipe.
also buy some bigger water fittings especially for the outlet of intercooler. Stock it only has about a 1/4" hole in the fittings.

A friend have made me 2 bigger fittings!But now i see that at the Oilcooler from where the water come,is also only the same small orginal fitting! I am not shure if maybe good to make there also a bigger outlet?
If waterpressure is ok,it is no problem for the engine or not?

My plan is to mount next year an stage 2 waterpump an make seperate waterroutes for engine and intercooler.

A new idea!!
Can i drill big hole in the Y Pipe,mount there a fitting for the hose,and let Intercooler water go out there through the drive ?
So no extra water in the exhaust,as i drive engine most time open.
