Help with IAC motor on 575sci
Can someone tell me what is the difference between the IAC Pt # 805224A03 ($180ea and the # my engines call for)) and 805224A1 (For earlier motors and $100ea) on the 575 SCI? Also I was told if I remove the "A##" from the end of the part # it will cross reference the automotive part # (Standard Motor Parts AC5 at $30). I have the serial #s that call for 2 on each motor so I will need 4 total and I want to replace them all so this cost can equate to $120 vs $720... Thanks for any help!

The 805224A1 is just the IAC motor with O-ring
The 805224A03 is the IAC motor with O-ring, screws and gasket I believe you are correct about the interchangeability of AC5 and the Merc part, but not positive, take the part to the auto parts store and verify https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...7a7e58c759.jpg |

Based on this information OM052947 and below use Part # A1 and OM0529748 and up use A03. And Sierra offers an aftermarket part for the A1 but not the A03. Lastly you will see the A1 in my pic shows the gaskets.

Took some more looking but found part of the issue. Appears from the Merc site that there are comments listed stating
Front only S/N 0M52947 and below Front and Rear S/N 0M52948 and up So appears you can use the A1 on the front TB only but can use the A03 on the Front and rear depending if your S/N is within range https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...0d91878b94.jpg Going to edit my first pic to not confuse |

Is it possible I get 2 IAC motors with the A03 Part #?
|
I would only be guessing, and with a guess I would expect one of two things.
Either the software for the older s/n motors would need an update if the new IAC was used Or Merc found that the new IAC (A03) works better and in order to change it also needs the new (maybe thicker) gasket If BAM was open on Sunday with there tech support side I would give them a call. Are your s/n above or below the cut off? |
