How to remove Shotgun slip on exhaust tips

Stainless marine exhaust, with a single tail pipe from the riser through the transom. There are no tips mounted to the transom, the pipes run from the riser out the back.

There are Shotgun flapper exhaust tips (slip on) pressed onto the end of the pipes. There is a red sealant of some sort visible.

I would like to remove these and go with BBC inserts. How do I remove the Shotgun tips?

Did you take the back screw out???

Yes.

I don’t have any previous experience with these. If the back screw is usually what holds the tips on, it appears whoever installed these also used a red sealant or adhesive to secure them.

They don’t budge at all, screw or not.

I tried a paint stripper heat gun, which did nothing.

I wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas before I hit them with a propane torch.

If its red, I'm betting it could be locktite and that would have been totally not needed.
I put them on one my boats and just pushed them tight and drilled the back hole.

The installer didn’t drill the back hole. These are dry Stainless Marine exhaust with the water dump right at the tips. I guess they were concerned about drilling into the water jacket.

Anyway, about 5 minutes of even heat with a propane torch was enough to be able to twist them off, inserting a metal rod through where the flap rod normally lives.
