Tall deck to standard deck exhaust

I’m going form a tall deck 572 to a standard 454, will my headers fit close enough to manage to get them to line up with my through hull exhaust? I’m not sure how much the .400 difference in deck height will translate down to the header location.

I might be off but I believe the short deck 454 will be .400 lower and 1.125 wider at exhaust ports but don't hold me to that. What kind of headers? A quick check to see from your current hole size you should know in a hurry. Down .400 and .500 plus wider. Just did quick check myself.

I went from tall deck to short and my exhaust wasn't even close. I had to have new tailpipes made.

Even with the tailpipe bottomed out on the transom cutout you can see the angle where the header meets the tails. There was a width difference as well.
