525EFI Water Pressure Concerns

New to me boat with 525's. Starboard water pressure gauge is reading 15-20psi while the port will peg the gauge well past 35psi. We did replace a broken plastic Perko flush/check valve for one of these https://www.supplyhouse.com/sh/contr...oduct_id=40615

Not sure what's going on here. Thoughts?

Even when I'm running wide open, my water pressure will be max 30 psi. Your reading could indicate an obstruction somewhere in the raw water loop. Backflush all coolers, hoses, etc. Any difference in operating temperature between the two engines?

No, operating temps of both seem to be steady between the two.

Honestly, I'm more worried about the high rather than the low pressure. I really don't want to push a gasket somewhere.

I usually see 25-30psi with dual water pickup drives and 525s. Even with strainers I still back flush the coolers individually and am always shocked what gets thru. Oil, PS and fuel coolers allow for many areas to form a blockage

So.... do you think my lower pressure side is of more concern than the high pressure? I just get nervous when the gauge is pegged well past the last mark on the face.

Service manual says max water psi is 43. I routinely see over that with no problems and I've talked with others who see over 50 with no problem. I'd be more concerned about the low pressure engine.

Good. I'll flush the STBD engine & see what we got.
