I have IMCO steering mounted on my 1991 272 SR1 with a Silent Thunder swim platform. When I lift my drives for trailering, I lift them until the tie bar touches the center exhaust. They still lift high enough for road travel.

Factory Tilt steering had to go. I went with full hydraulic steering (Helm to drives).

On my 292, I went around and around, about how to do hydraulic steering. I couldn't find a way to do it and have full travel without customizing the box. I ended up going with ITS boxes. It was the best decision I made. Super simple, and very clean install. That is the way I would suggest going.

I was thinking if I left the tie bar on the trim rams and adjust the sensor to stop short.. I'll see as shoon as ups gets here!
