Default Fuel pump not kicking on with key 500 efi

tried to run for the first time this year, I turned the key, engine cranks but not a hint of firing. Then I turn key to off, turn it on and I get the beep but not the sound of the fuel pump priming. I do this many times and I get the same thing, no fuel pump. It has a mechanical fuel pump, so I'm not sure what to look for...thanks in advance!

It has a mechanical fuel pump and an electric fuel pump. Could be the electric pump or the relay.

I've had an 500 EFI electric pump get gummed up over the winter also. Removed it, hooked it up to power and tapped the side of pump motor and it broke free. I replaced it to be sure. Be mindful of the fuel hose connection angles etc. to reinstall it w/o trial and error.

You can try to wire it straight to the battery to bypass the relay and test it. It's valuable info to help get you home someday too.

Since you're getting a beep when you turn the key, it probably isn't the tether/lanyard. But I would check it to be sure.

i did check the lanyard and it is working properly. thank you for all the help, im going to try to look at it tonight and first check the relays and wire it directly to the batter to see if it has power.
