Timing set for GenVI. Any favorites?

Seems like a silly thing to start a thread over, but the choices are overwhelming and a search popped up zilch.

GenVI 509 crate engine base with mild mods. May as well swap the single roller for a double. Comp cams 525EFI cam. Looking to stay under the stock cover if possible.

I went with the Rollmaster cs2090. I read that there’s a 80% chance it’ll fit under the stock cover. Thanks!

I called Cloyes and they only make a single roller (3649X3) for the step nose gen 6 cam. They do make a double roller for the Mark 4 (9-3610TX9Z) but you'll have to run a cam button on a gen 5/6 block.

GM High performance. https://www.gmperformancemotor.com/parts/12371053.html

Put a Rollmaster on this week and as you rolled over the engine chain would get tight, then loose, then tight, and then loose. Couldn't get the concentricity in.

Rollmaster does fit under the cover but the first one I got the torrington bearing was assembled at the factory on an angle and messed up so it was returned before even being installed. Another one was installed in the engine and after Only 20-25 hours later I pulled the engine to do some upgrades and had it torn down and inspected .The bearing cage was cracked in multiple places after no more than 25 hours. I would not trust one. This engine was also built and assembled by one of the best names in offshore motors so it was done right. Jeff wurl
