My Cams Not Ground the Same as Each Other
I pulled my motors a few weeks ago to have new cams installed.I never liked the way they idled and after reading some of the problems people had with the same cams I decided to pull them out.I took the motors to the engine builder, I spoke to him today he said he sent the cams to his cam guy( Bullet Cams) they put the cams in what he said was called a cam doctor, guess what they where not ground the same. I thought they didn't sound the same,I just thought it was me when I built the motors that I did something wrong. |
who's cams are they?what were the specs supposed to be?

At least now you know it wasn’t your screwup - that’s always a relief ;) Did you buy them them brand new? |

I'm assuming Cam Motion ground them. I thought Cam Motion grinds them with a CNC, that's why they could grind any lobe profile just had to have the core lobe height. Then the cam card is right off their Camdoctor and printed. Not saying yours aren't different, but maybe mishandled during the "dropship". Are the serial numbers in sequence? Mine are and were probably ground back to back. What did the Camdoctor come up with on each cam? I'm curious to how far off they are.
