daytona ignition with alpha 1

i have a 383 stroker with an alpha drive i got a daytona ignition box and was wondering how to hook the shift interrupt to the ignition box. also was wondering how much initial time to run before picking a pretune on the box the boat runs very well on 30 degrees initial with the box out the picture but obviously idles to high to come out of gear if i set the initial at 10 degrees and put the box on timing curve 6 it doesn't sound right around 3500 and doesn't pull as hard. thanks for any help

i failed to mention im running marine msd locked distributpr so im using pins 6 and 7 for distributor instruction say cant use white wire when using them

That's because they do the same thing but inversely. You can't use them both because it would be triggering and grounding at the same time ie no spark. That is how it is/was done with the MSD. But both of them is how the shift interrupt works.

so im assuming your saying hook the white wire to the the interrupt switch and ill be good. ps i did call daytona first but he it wasn't compatible with there box.

Yes hook white wire to shift interrupt. Technically the MSD box isn't compatible either. There's no power to that circuit so I don't know how you could hurt anything. The other option would be to hook switch to negative coil side, but I think with a CD ign, that could be more risky than white wire.
