HP 500 hours

Hello, just wondering if there is anyway to tell how many hours are on a carb HP 500? Supposedly the key needed to be on for the radio to work, so it ran the hour meter up, but has since been re-wired. I don’t think there is anyway to tell being that it is not EFI but just wondered. Thanks a lot

absurd. One could blow up an ignition coil and module that way if the rotor was pointed to (or near to) a cap terminal.:(

Wouldn’t the alarm/warning buzzer be going off the whole time too....?

with the Merc DDT and or Diacom with the correct adaptors all T bolt V ignition modules can be scanned for hours per rpm ranges.

Again if the engine has a MERC T bolt ign ./ module set up then you can scan for the hours per rpm ranges.

NO OTHER SCAN OPTIONS using a scan tool are offered with T bolt V only what I mentioned here..

hour meter gauges some are installed not correctly - I seen them were the key position turned left ( counterclock wise ) for battery power to the stereo or whatever will also run the hour meter. Again depends on how it was wired -- by whomever.

with key on only ( one click to the right ) Not all warning horn outputs are a solid continues horn alarm when Key on only (test ) - it does vary between different apps thru the years, Just saying for one of the posts above..
