Heat exchanger for blower motor 1K hp
Hi, We are building a 532 inch long rod blower engine for racing, I need a heat exchanger for closed water cooling, Has anyone got a good one or can recommend which product to use and what size we would need....Just cant bring myself to flow sea water through the engine
I have an EGR cooler from a Detroit DD15 but its a little big i think, although would certainly do the job and built very well..but a bit ungainly... Thanks Jas |

Anyone have some pictures of a "off engine" set up. ? that could get the bilge kinda bulky with hoses ? , especially for a full FWC system .

Are you running a inner cooler also? If yes will it be raw or closed? I assume if closed some type of electric pump to run the water through?

The "intercooler" is separate from the intake manifold. The "intercooler" cools the pressurized intake air before it enters the "intake manifold" then into the engine. You need to run water through it typically driven by the seawater pump, which has a belt driven pulley. The Whipple coolers are made from Cupronickel and do not corrode, so you can run salt water through it no problem. https://whipplesuperchargers.com/ind...product_id=110. The closed cooling system needs a circulation pump, also with a pulley and belt driven by the engine.
