Victor Jr Intakes
Curious if Victor Jr Intake Manifolds are comparable to HP500 Intakes. They look similar, but I'm not sure if they work well. I currently have 454 Mag intakes with spacers and I would like to swap out for a single plane and eliminate the spacer. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f981a657a5.jpg

I think it would be a big step backwards as far as torque I dynoed a 502 with Edelbrock heads and a fairly small cam this spring and the torque difference between a junior and a standard performer was about 40 Less foot pounds and compared to Edelbrock RPM air gap performer was 60 less foot pounds it gained nothing until you got way past the powerband and it was a couple horsepower for what it's worth

Also the Victor Jr needs a TON of porting to make work well. I may be wrong, but I believe it was made for the peanut port heads. At least the oval unit I had had about a 1/4” of material that needed to be hogged out of it. |

Same thing basically. Anything under 500 + - CI and under 550 hp and spinning under 5,600 I would stay dual plane. Personal opinion and experience. |

Which intake part number for rectangle ports you recommend? I find a couple different ones in air gap dual plane |
I bought 2 hp500 “copy” intakes from a distributor and got 2 pro comp intakes. 10 years ago. |
I'm wondering if you would see the same losses with the Victor Jr oval single plane on a oval port head, 100% not arguing the facts with the performer RPM/air gap manifolds. Just curious if it would fall somewhere in the middle between the two. |

if you are not running high RPMs never understood why run one of the Victors. the range states 3500 to 7500. Heck not many boats even running 6500 rpms more of less 7500 rpms. I would use the dual plane air gap and play with spacers especially wood or phenolic. Also port match at the very least. . Info on the Victors and rpms.

Theres just no way a sweep from 3500-6000 is going to give you a proper tune/test. I can not recall the dyno that many Nascar engine builders use. And some teams rent that out from a guy / dyno shop in CA. I forgot the names currently but ITS NOT A water break dyno and is more accurate to what is needed. Sorry if it has been mentioned as I have not read all the posts up here.
