Bravo 1 Survive with 560HP?
Whats your thoughts on longevity of a Bravo 1 with a 560HP LS motor in front of it? Will defiantly get a drive shower, any other suggestions to make it live? Best drive oil to use?

Is this a 22 or 27?
Torque.......is what kills drives. How much do you make? I believe a smaller single with lower TQ will do fine. |

Easy up on the throttles and don't catch any air

i had two on the back of a 10,000 lb 34 SCARAB with 650 HP in front of them and the only failure I had was due to a flaw in an aftermarket vertical shaft that snapped clean.
I have an X drive in front of a 800+ HP 598 on a 4500 LB cat. |
You’ll be fine if you are easy out of hole and don’t drive it like you stole it. I’ve gotten over 800 hrs on pair behind a 36’ Apache that have never been apart. A deeper x dimension will also help them live. |
I’ve heard 1000 hours behind 800hp, and I’ve heard 10 hours behind 500hp. Pretty hard to sift through the bs but somethings are consistent; easy out of the hole and easy on the jumping/re-entries. One guy said that he pounded the ocean for years and no problems but was running inland on glassy water and popped the drive as the constant tension was too much for it. The best oil with frequent changes while keeping an eye on any metal slag on the drain plug, and keeping a spare around seems to be the best practice. My entire education on the subject is via internet fwiw. |
Drive it smart and it will be fine.
