Miami Boat Show Build
Hey OSO happy new year . I would like to invite everyone who will be at the show this year to come by and see us. At the same time we're starting a new build project for a pair of N/A engine packages for a stepped bottom Tiger we will be machining assembling dyno tuning and testing before placed back into service.
The beginning of our new projects start off just like this
We receive core components from the manufacturer
were we machine every aspect of the component.
The first operation after press test and inspection is to machine the crankshaft
Tunnel for size and roundness it ensures we can control the main bearing clearances
as we want and at the same time ensuring ourselves the bore is perfectly straight.
We don't assemble anything new or rebuild without performing this operation.
Then the Deck surface is machined to control piston to head clearance height and
surface finish.
Also remember everything we post we machine and photograph in house so if you have any questions please feel free to ask or call us at 1-305-884-5368

Today we're starting to port match the intakes so we can have them hard coat anodized for time of assembly and not get held up.
After the deck surface is finished we can bolt the heads down and check the port
Alignment we transfer the cylinder head port location to the intake we've found that
to be more effective than laying a gasket on the intake and gasket matching.
You will always get the ports to line up correctly this way . Manifolds that are purchased
CNC ported and or gasket matched 9 out of 10 times will not line up because of several factors
we try to eliminate this condition by doing the procedure this way.
It is time consuming and makes a mess but in the long run makes for a perfect fit.
This is the right time to check gasket surface angle and fit can easily be corrected
now as well.

Got one intake prefit today and got all parts laid out for preassembly of crank rods and pistons to make sure everyone fits inside the oil pans
Intake aligns perfect with the cylinder head ports now and just needs to be sent out
for hard anodizing tomorrow.
Crower crankshafts are balanced internally finish washed and ready for assembly.
All rod and main bearings have been measured and clearances set every thing
lean and ready for assembly . Final ring gap set as well as pin fit of the pistons and
rods is also finished.

Well here's ow we started the day off today .
Pulled the caps off the block and found there was some grinding to be done on both
blocks in the second main web some casting flash stayed behind and you know the
crankshaft counterweight found it.
Finally we ground and washed the blocks again and got the cranks to fit and turn
perfect with no snags. Never a dull moment.
Got the end play all set and pistons and rods in torqued ready for cams lifters and
valve trane for next week.
Got the short blocks finished this afternoon and along comes a small block Ford twin turbo impostor
into the assembly room at least it made its way in with a Blown Marine 850 so it wasn't too
bad.
