Default Hey guys got a 35 cig. Twin blown 540s. Carb problems.

so it idles good, minimal hunt, runs great but has bad docking manners. If we put it in gear it stalls. You have to be right on top of the throttles to keep it going. Air mixture screws are 1 and 1/2 out all four corners. Still lean??? Try 2 and 1/2???

The best way to adjust the idle is to tie boat to dock really well. Put one in gear. Then adjust idle screws after that adjust rpm.

I like that. I will try that. Thank you. Thinking it needs more fuel.

You could get ignition boxes with idle stabilization also.

Do it the old school way. Put a vacume gauge on it. May have to bump the initial timing up a couple degrees.

I had to change my v-8 module to v-6 module to keep my NA 454-420 hp bumped to 485 hp because of initial timing or something like that... solved my problem instantly wich was also same problem you have... not sure if the same solution apply to supercharged engines...

What's the timing at idle? I would bet their fat at idle. Do your idle screws respond to adjustments at idle? If you got big cams in them, which I would expect you do, curve the distributor so you have about 20* at idle but still correct at all in. It will clean up a fat gassey idle due to a big cam.

What carbs do you have? Stock Holleys are notorious for a fat idle with big cams. You need the fully adjustable metering blocks on them
