Did you add a drive shower by chance or relocate any existing drive shower?
|
no sir...same shower just extended it above the cav plate slightly to accommodate a larger max machine top cap on the upper but below the cav plate it is the same

Have you tried boating in thicker water? ;) I have no clue what I’m talking about, but as a neophyte my troubleshooting my troubleshooting would start with a new prop hub just to rule that out as it’s cheap and easy. I have fried an engine coupler and can tell you that there’s no mistaking it when that happens. If the drive gear ratio is indeed sending to much torque overwhelming the prop like a muscle car with undersized tires then the solution would be bigger tires for more traction. Simply try a bigger prop and see what happens. |
I'd try a different prop as well, because that's quick and easy.
|
I'm thinking that's what the plan will be and see what happens...that is when all the ice is off the lakes lol
The labbed 30 I have is cupped a little I guess...I bought it used but that may help as well I do also have a call into brett at bblades to get his take as well |

Did you ad a drive shower ? this happened to me on a single 272 Baja, the tubes through the cavi plate were to long and would aerate the prop, raised the tubes to 1/4 inch and the problem was fixed

While the boat is sitting around waiting on warm weather and a different prop throw a dial indicator on the prop shaft and check the run out. |
Lol @ Speedy’s 15.5 post |
I had the same problem with a nose coned XR, switching to a SC housing was the cure.
