I have the edelbrock e-tec 170's that have a 170cc intake runner. They make a 200 that has a 200cc intake runner. You'd have to call them or look on their website for flow #'s. They both have 64cc combustion chamber.

I would suspect that without changing your exhaust, you are going to have to be careful on how much cam you choose to make sure you don't suck water back in.

here is a decent article comparing small block heads that are in the 750-1500 price range:

https://www.hotrod.com/articles/ccrp...head-shootout/

hotrodford, what model cam are you running? What exhaust......sounds like a nice small block setup. Would love to hear it.

I have found too that there can be a lot of naysayers on the internet. I really like this site, there is much less of that here.

Choked with stock exhaust there’s no reason to run something bigger than vortecs.

Is it lift ,duration or lobe separation that causes the sucking of water?

I think I will be better off building the motor to get the HP and MPH numbers im looking for and adding new exhaust to the list then it would be to build a turd then having to start over.

It is valve overlap that causes reversion.

duration and lsa both contribute to overlap.

look on eBay or here in the swap area for exhaust parts for sale. You might save some money.
