The block looks like a very nice piece and the piston squirters are a nice addition. Friend is using one for a 8.1 540 build.

Heard of more physical block failures that mechanical failures. There was a time between 2005-2007 where I heard 2 different guys ran in rough water and the block broke and the engine mounts tore out of the block. Then, of course the famous piston failures that I have had and many others. That almost always sends a connecting rod thru the cylinder but that would wreak havoc on any block.

I know somebody that is not on OSO anymore that has a 540 with the 213 cam . Very nice set-up. I think he was making 700 hp+. I would love to have my heads ported with the new CNC program but since I drive my boat like twice a year now, that will have to wait.

Larry @ Raylar is a good guy. He has thousands and maybe tens of thousands of hours on the development. LOL, of course, I miss Ray, he was the sales guy but I can honestly tell you I've always had good dealings with the company. Straight shooters and stand behind the product if you do it the way they recommend. I wouldnt hesitate buying a long block through them.

Yep, I agree. All my parts from them have been top quality and great customer service.

psi=power solutions inc.they make&sell generators worldwide.the block is made by dart.the engine was designed to be a low rpm high torque engine to power a fairly large genset,it runs on natural gas or lp depending on what the owner wants to use for fuel.it is an alternative to diesel fueled power units.

I have just replaced my Raylar 496 with Raylar 540, I only have 10 minutes test time with it as its still being set up but feels promising so far. As the video says everything bolts straight on, exception was the balancer that had to be machined but not a big job.

Edit: tried to add a link to pictures from the company that is doing the work for me but I dont think Im allowed to post links yet. If youre on Instagram their page is WestCoastMarineLtd
