alignment

Hi all , quick question the 2 rear supports and parts are all there washer sleeve spring and bushing and tightened down good , my question is why is the alignment almost perfect with the front mount adjustment nut at the very very top engine raised to max , the stringers look good no cracks at all , could this be normal .

Are you using the merc alignment tool? If so and if you have it as low as possible for it to still be aligned, you may want to put a shim plate under the mount base.

You only have the fiber washers with the double twist lock washer thing between the transom assembly and the bell housing RIGHT...
Is the alignment tool close to parallel with the bottom of the boat?
How old is the bell housing?

yes have original alignment tool printed and made from a machine shop buddy of mine , that is inserted and removed very easily but the adjustment nut is at the top maximum travel .

IS the tool parallel with the bottom of the boat?
The tool should be parallel with the running surface on the bottom of the boat.
IF the rear mounts are not correct ( as in height ) this will cause you to raise or lower the front mount in order for the tool to slide properly.
because the transom assembly has a bearing ( gimbal ) that can pivot the tool will always line up properly as the rear mount goes up or down by raising or lowering the front mount.
SO if the rear mount is too high in order for the tool to align you will raise the front mount.
