Mercury Racing 1075 air cleaner substitute?
any one know of an alternate air cleaner for the 1075? working on a triple that has sat in dry storage for 8 years and the foam filters are falling apart. at $550 or so each from Mercury I think we can find a better use of nearly $3500 than crappy foam filters. anyone know of a K&N or something similar that will fit the 1075?

Don't know if this will help but you can always call K&N... they can usually come up with a feasible answer to any situation - especially when compared to Merc replacement $$$... usual info for mount dimension and Lx W of the filter body

46 Cougar that I rigged about 10 years ago. it was prop tested and then put in the warehouse due to some other things that came up with the owner and now I am getting it ready to run again.

that is what I wanted to hear. I am not near the boat right now so I could not measure it. I called K&N to see if there was such a thing as a black one and they said the have an oil kit now to make them black, part #995050BK. thanks for the help, this is way better than what mercury would want for their filters that dont last.
