With the boat tied off to the dock to simulate the load.

Running a Victor intake with a 1050 4500 and a 1 inch super sucker spacer on a 540. Vacuum signal at the carb is pretty weak at idle. Removing the spacer made a bit of an improvement but not enough. Maybe a 4 hole spacer might give the carb a better signal than no spacer? Any other ideas? Just trying to get the in gear idle a little better and not be overly rich to keep it running.

If your metering blocks have the idle feed restrictor " IFR " in the upper position the overlap from the cam cause a problem with the fuel flow. The IFR should be in the lower position. If you go to RACINGFUELSYSYEMS web site that pretty well explains it.

Will attempt but idle is ****ty enough that it's tough to adjust and keep running.

Not familiar with IFR and positions. I'll check out the link and look into it.

Holley HP EFI - My 598 Solid roller idles in gear at 750 RPM where it wouldn't stay running for 10 seconds in gear with the carb.

Do you have power valves in the carb, if you do, what # are they?
