Default Merc 6.2

Has anyone seen these before ( it’s not a butt connector) it is wired inline to the thermostat sending unit. It appears to change the temp reading by 10 to 15 degrees. It’s on a 2006 mercruiser 6.2. Thanks

measure it w/ an ohm meter and see if it has a resistance value.

It might be used as a pull up resistor.

The problem is it’s broke in half, so I won’t be able to pull the ohms

Cut the covering off. See if it is a resistor inside. If so the resistance will be the color code on the outside.

It might be 2000-2200.

So this resistor will pull the temp reading down on the gauge to match what the Rinda shows it’s reading?

So where can you get them, or is it possible to change to a different temp sending unit and eliminate the resistor? And thank you.

Thank you, I will get the serial number, I’ll probably reply with it tomorrow unless I come up with it on some paperwork work I have here.
