Thanks for putting my name in the mix. Many have been turned down and ended up being a total waste off time plus an expense for the boater. Your dealer is going to send the injectors out for examination anyways. Most dealers do not have the proper equipment to test and service injectors professionally. .
The dealer will have charges for removal and replacing for the total process. . If Merc was willing to help all, then they would have QUIT putting paint internally of the gen 3 cool fuel instead having many years of paint shedding.. .. Again the paint issue was from late 2005 thru 2017 models and is so commonly known plus many have barked as Merc for this issue. .
. Actually prob I was one of the first ones who found this mess because I have been servicing marine fuel injectors for almost 13 years personally with proper testing equipment. . We seen paint start shedding within 2 years of gen 3 cool fuels being new in many Mercruiser models including the 496. .If you need any help regardless about any of it, I am easily found.. THANKS
