Thanks again to you guys that helped me with my issue. I replaced the pick-up in the distributor today and the engine almost started itself!

So my post help you get the engine running - It should have been a T bolt V ignition set up and that is called an ignition sensor assembly. under the rotor as you changed that out --- correct ?.

The est ignition set up has the pick up coil and the distributor has to be removed to change that out.- you should not have that set up period from an OEM stock mercruiser app.
