I agree with these guys. Modifying what you have can get costly with mixed results. Buying something that meets your speed expectations makes a lot of sense.

Cyrus already has a fairly fast hull, scarab 33 AVS, He recently built new power for it, did lots of work to boat, ie transom, etc, so he's "invested" in this one. Guys just looking for ideas on optimizing what he has. They respond well to more power, but since his powers almost new, he'd like to do whatever other improvements he can. Since I have the same boat , I'm watching to see if anything real good comes up that I havent thought of., Smitty

One of the least costly ways to find speed is reduce weight. Friend went at his Donzi and took out over 200 lb in excess rigging. Repositioned batteries to get short cable runs. Took all the waste out of wire harnesses. No radio. Lots of little things. Makes a huge difference and it's basically free.
Talk Li to the guys racing. They have lots of "tricks" they use to break adhesion with water.

Go to the Scarab section and start a thread about dialing in a 33 AVS. Might find someone who has first hand info on what is the best bang for the buck with that hull. Dan / Archer spends a lot of time in that section and might be able to tell you in one post which way to go.

Reduce weight , especially all the crap that accumulates in the cabin, tweak props, align drives, run good settings, not too much trim or too much tab. Clean bottom, no wax, try speed hull products. I never have but I know guys that have had it put on and claim it made a difference. Check bottom with a straight edge.
