468 build

Hey guys building up a 468 and wanted to know if anybody has used this cam...https://www.cpperformance.com/p-1162...ifter-kit.aspx. And if used how do you like it? Pros and cons...
Also I can’t find a recommended compression ratio for this set either.. I’ll probably be around 9.5-1... 6k rpm max, very light boat, cmi headers with threw transom tips... any recommendations

I think it would be a nice mild build. I used to run 9.7:1 for years and I believe that cam will run out of power well before 6000 RPM.
I just built 2 Merc 420's (454's) with upgraded 500 EFI cams 230/236, 0.598"/0.610"

Rookie are you running dry exhaust? What’s that max lift you can get away with staying with reasonable compression?

Lift doesn’t have a relationship to compression. Duration does. In general, for a given fuel octane, more duration will allow more compression.

I used the 500efi cam in my 420's and they work great.

The 731 is a tad smaller than the 500EFI cam. (226 vs 230 int duration at .050”)
Still a good choice for many 454/502 builds.
