Are there any numbers on the front counterweight ?

That is on the front counterweight. Some hand stamped numbers 2nd from rear

If the crankshaft was standing straight up on the floor and you looked down on it are there any numbers on the front of the front counterweight ? That is where most manufacturers put their numbers. The number stamped on the edge of the counterweight is probably a balance job number or an engine builders job number. Looks like it has had some holes welded up for balancing.

The 8x89 was the only numbers i found i wll look again this weekend when i go to my shop. Thanks

Ok,
The forging sort of looks like the GM ones but hard to tell. Also in your one picture it looks like maybe the rod journal has been welded up ? Looked like a pit mark. I wonder if it is something that someone welded up to make a stroker cranks years ago ? I can't post pictures to show what I am talking about, guess you have to be a paying member. looks like 2 holes were pluged on the counter weight....what was the bore of the 572 ?
