kiekhaefer tabs and mercury tabs

I have 280 tabs on my boat with the "K" stamped in them. I want to try 380 tabs and found some but they have the "M" stamp. I just want to replace the bottom plate. Are the mounts the same, Can I just replace the bottom plate?
