Champion, AC, NGK just like ford, chevy, dodge
Do agree don't run larger gap |
I thought the Delco marine plugs were no longer available, though looking at their site...I guess they're available again.
I've been using Delco commercial series plugs in mine. |
The oil is only on the threads. The tips look okay, no trace of oil. There is one plug that has a little bit of excess carbon build up.
I already have the champion plugs in hand. I also got a new cap rotor and 30 OHM resistance 10 mm wires. I might pick up a hotter coil. Could I re-gap the plugs to .045 and work with them through the season? Thanks for everyone's input. |
First why do you think .045 gap or hotter is needed?
The extra gap without the need for it just causes issues. Your motor was designed and built for a given set of parameters. Changing those parameters causes other issues/concerns. Running a hotter plug or more gap and not changing things like using higher octane fuel or changing timing can destroy your motor. |
The factory e-core coil on these 454/502MPI motors are extremely strong and will not die like a My Spark Died coil or etc.
.035-.040 gap. Will fire a supercharged engine too, no sweat. worry about something else. :) |
