Aluminum swim platform coating

I need to redo my aluminum platform. The old coating looks to have a anti slip in the paint or whatever coating it is. Does anyone know if a powder coat can somehow be applied with some sort of anti slip in it or I'll just apply strips of grip tape after it gets coated which I prefer not to do

I use clear grip tape https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Non-Skid-...t/180680009852
It gives good grip but is not scratchy or abrasive

Swim Platform overhaul

I just reinstalled my tubular platform a couple weeks ago. As good as or better than new. Craig at Tri-State Powder Coating in Headland AL was a godsend. All powder coasters are not the same. Made a bad choice with the first guy, but Craig did it right. Stripped, primed, and top coated, for a beautiful final finish. Reinstalled me non-skid with 3M tape.

what did you use to seal it to the transom?

I like 3M 4200 or 5200 sealer. Never had a failure of any sort.

Sealant

3M 4200 Marine Sealant. 5200 is for a permanent bond, whereas 4200 allows for disassembly in the future. Still a strong sealant.

Ya if the coater uses primer it makes all the difference in the world for durability. I’ve been using a home hobby kit from Eastwood for 20 years . If you decide to change the color down the road and it’s been primed and cleared , your in for a hell of a time getting it off even sandblasting
