Water Line Routing for Eickert Headers

Good morning,

Getting ready to install some Eickert headers on the 489 in my Formula 242LS. My engine has the older style thermostat housing, as seen in the photo. My plan is to run the main feeds from the tstat housing (blue dot) to the main inlet on the headers (blue dot) and then run the bypass to a "tee" fitting in one of the yellow line locations. Blue to blue, yellow to yellow. Will this cause me any issues? I believe this is how Merc ran the older SC engines with headers.

Thanks!
Adam

Apparently I cannot post pics bc it believe it's a URL. Fun.

You need ten post to post pictures.

Got it. Kind of hard to show what I'm talking about without the pics haha.

Anyways, old style tstat housing has 4 water outlets for the original cast iron manifolds. The ones close to the balancer with the check balls went to the risers, and the ones behind them closer to the flywheel went to the bottom of the manifolds. The Eickerts have an inlet at the bottom, and then it comes out, and goes into the tail. I want to feed the inlets on the Eickerts with the feeds closer to the flywheel on the tstat, and then use a tee to T into the line between the tail and the manifold with the lines from the tstat fittings with the check balls. I hope that makes sense?

Thanks,
Adam

You could have broken up all those sentences into 10 posts. ;)
