1979 Martini cigarette

I was hoping maybe someone on here would have a clue as to how much this boat weighs? It is a 1979 27ft?! Martini cigarette boat, as far as I know. Please feel free to correct if I'm wrong! I have a jeep with a 5.9 in it to tow for this year, but tranny is going, so I need to figure out a vehicle for next year. and is why I'm asking. Thanks for your reply in advance!!!

Does no one have a clue? I would post a picture but the site will not allow me to until i post 10 times! Was honestly thinking of just spamming this post to get it done! lol

I’ve been round and round with friends and family in regards to towing/vehicle capabilities... if you are just running from your house to a local ramp you’ll be fine with just about any newer 1/2 ton pick up. If you plan on going on road trips or hauling regularly buy a 3/4 ton diesel and don’t be suckered into someone talking you into a gasser 3/4 ton. The upfront cost of a diesel will pay for itself in fuel economy and repair bills to transmissions and rear ends. If you don’t want new, I’d highly recommend anything with 120k or less “pre DEF fluid”.

ive had Chevy, Ford, dodge, new, used, old... they all get the job done.

ps... if that’s Boat has twins it’s prob around the 8500# mark.

Its a single drive 454 with trs mercruiser I was thinking it was around that weight, though reading your reply I'm presuming I'm higher than it is.

Probably a little more than my pantera. I would guess about #4800

I don't know if it helps but my 1974, 27ft Magnum weights 4800 lbs. It has twin small blocks with TRS trans and drives.

that does help viking60! and thank you for the responses viking60, class6, and metalguy38! wish I had a huge scale to weigh the dang thing! haha I just had a thought that maybe a bone yard would be willing to weigh it for me on their scrap metal scale.

And hey viking60. Any chance you know what fluid is in the reservoir in transom? I'm replacing the trim rams tomorrow and was going to change the fluid in outdrive, was thinking it was extra fluid for the outdrive and I could find out by doing that. But since ya have trs drives thought I'd ask! :)

You are correct, Outdrive oil. I'm using Amsoil 75w-90 Marine drive lube and 5W-20 in the trim.

Thank you viking60! Especially for the quick response! It actually, somehow, after 40 years still says on my trim motor to use 5w-30, which I'm going to use 10w-30 due to age. But the input is greatly appreciated!!!! And I thought about getting the Amsoil as well, but I went with just Merc for now. I'm more than likely, only going to have the boat out for next week, for my birthday, so I can always change to better oil for next year when I have to take it for a true ride in the ocean, to spread my father's ashes.

And hey! How about some pictures of the Magnum and Pantera, viking60, and class6?! Once I get up to 10 posts I'll share mine! I love boats! They have always been a slight passion of mine, along with cars, and racing in general. And would love to see both of yours! I do have to say, I have always loved the name Pantera for a boat too! Not to take anything away from your class6! We all love our own boats more either way! lol :D

Well, as I'm thinking of it. I was wondering if anyone knew, if it would be okay, for me to slightly spam this thread at this point?. Simply, so I can post a picture. I don't wish to break any rules on here. I'm sure my years of having this boat, and having this forum will come in quite handy. So, I certainly don't wish to get any red marks! lol
It would be 4 posts after this, so that should be okay, yeah?! What ya'll think?
