How do I fix trailer?
 

Yes I screwed up. Not the first time and likely not the last on any given trailer. That moment when your in a rush and completely forget you have an empty trailer behind. It happens but rarely. Looking for remedies as I’m getting close to pulling the toon out. It’s been parked out of sight out of mind til now.

Id unbolt everything cut the tongue off and weld a new one on and put gussets around the butt weld, and install a new bolt on coupler or weld it

If it were me, which it isn't. I would remove the bow stop, heat the bent area red hot, straighten it and then weld on some reinforcing pieces of steel on top and bottom of the damaged area. You would need longer U-bolts to put it back together.

Cut minimum from both sides of kink. Next size down box tube will fit inside like a sleeve. Through bolt and take to the welder to finish the joint. Fixed many like this. Stronger than original. Good luck!

tks for all post but this was something I should have thought of after a quick look in the back of shop I have the right stock for a sleeve. I can handle it from here. I have some flat stock as well to reinforce and pretty up.
