Gimbal pins
The lower pin on the gimbal ring that the trim rams attached too has slight play ,any fix for that besides replacing the Gimbal rings? The play again it’s very minimal
i’ve seen that on a lot of gimbal rings so it’s not uncommon I was just wondering thanks |
I don’t think it’s a big job to just replace the lower pin. The gimbal and the bellhousing shouldn’t need to come off, but I think the driveshaft bellow and Outdrive will need to be removed. If I remember right, there’s a bushing that’s the pin rides on, that is glued in place in the gimbal housing.

No it does not have a bushing it rides right in the aluminum ears of the gimbal ring, it’s the stainless pin that the trim cylinders attached too
|
Which way does the play allow it to move?

Just spoke with Ron at jrmarine, normal as they all develop some slight play After some use.
